Safe@Weber Ambassador Program
The Safe@Weber Ambassador program equips faculty and staff on campus with information and resources to prevent, identify, and respond to violence and harm.
What are Safe@Weber Ambassadors?
Safe@Weber Ambassadors are faculty and staff on campus who have volunteered to connect students with support and resources. These individuals undergo extensive training on the dynamics of interpersonal violence, violence prevention and how to support those who have experienced harm. Ambassadors are not advocates or therapists but can provide direction and support along the way.
Reporting Requirements
Weber State Faculty and Staff have certain reporting requirements under PPM 3-32 and that require them to report any known or suspected policy or law violations. However, our Ambassadors are aware that not everyone wants to report and are trained to balance their reporting responsibilities with survivors’ power of choice. They are familiar with confidential resources on campus and in the community. For those needing support who do not want to report, simply let an Ambassador know what general resource you are seeking and they will connect you with the appropriate resource.
