3.0 DEFINITION
Full Time Equivalency (FTE) - The number of total hours worked divided by the maximum number of compensable hours in a work year. For example, the University defines the work year as 2,080 hours. An employee occupying a paid full-time job all year would be 1.0 FTE, and an employee working 1,040 hours would be .5 FTE.

4.1.13.1 The Personal Day is an individually-selected holiday, which will accrue annually on July 1. The day selected as the Personal Day is at the employee’s discretion, and must be arranged in advance and approved by the responsible supervisor. The Personal Day does not carry over from year to year and will not be paid out upon separation from employment.
4.2 Holidays falling on Sunday will be observed the following Monday. Holidays falling on Saturday will be observed the previous Friday.
4.3 In observance of Good Friday, the University will adjust its operating hours and close campus for half of the workday.
4.4 The institution will make reasonable efforts to avoid scheduling regular classes on a scheduled holiday, but if classes are so scheduled, the holiday will not be observed by faculty.
4.5 Days of Religious Observance. The University recognizes the existence of various days of religious observance or obligation. In accordance with university nondiscrimination policy and to support personal choice, Staff Employees in Benefits-eligible Positions may use their Personal Day and/or vacation time for religious observances. Supervisors are encouraged to make every effort to approve these requests, subject to business necessity.
4.6 If a salaried non-exempt employee is required to work on a scheduled holiday observed by other personnel, the employee shall receive their regular holiday pay for the day, plus straight-time compensation for all hours worked on that day.
4.7 Scheduled holidays falling during a vacation period will not be charged against vacation leave.
4.8 Employees whose days off are other than Saturday and Sunday will be allowed time off for holidays in a way as to be equitable to conditions affecting employees who work Monday through Friday.
4.9 Upon termination of employment, no payment will be made for holidays falling after the last day on the job. A person must return to work following the holiday in order to receive pay for the holiday.
4.10 The University may provide other paid holidays, as declared by the University President.
