About

Nazneen Ahmad joined the faculty of the John B. Goddard School of Business & Economics at Weber State University in 2006.

Ahmad has had the wonderful opportunity to study economics at three universities in three different countries and teach at size universities across two continents. She holds a master's degree in economics from York University in Toronto and a PhD in financial economics from the University of New Orleans. Her teaching experience before Weber State includes Portland State University and Dillard University.

Her international academic experiences have made teaching and learning about global economic interconnections especially rewarding. She primarily teaches macroeconomics and international finance. Her research interests include macroeconomics, business cycles, and international finance, particularly how economic shocks and policy changes affect the broader economy and how remittances and international capital flows influence economic growth and investment.

Ahmad enjoys mentoring undergraduate students in economics research. Under her guidance, students have presented their research at regional and national conferences, including the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) and the Utah Conference on Undergraduate Research (UCUR), and published their work in ERGO, Weber State University's undergraduate research journal.
